Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework, centered around 7 key areas of learning and development designed to build a strong foundation for future growth:
Communication and Language: Developing listening, attention, understanding, and speaking skills.
Physical Development: Building coordination, control, movement, and an understanding of healthy choices.
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: Fostering confidence, social skills, emotional regulation, and positive relationships.
Literacy: Exploring early reading, writing, and phonics through stories and text.
Mathematics: Developing an understanding of numbers, patterns, shapes, and spatial reasoning.
Understanding the World: Guiding children to make sense of their physical world and local community.
Expressive Arts and Design: Encouraging creativity through art, music, role-play, and imagination.
Every child is unique. Our experienced practitioners carefully tailor their planning to match each child’s individual needs, interests, and stage of development. Learning comes alive through planned, purposeful play that seamlessly blends adult-led guidance with child-initiated exploration.
We use the Cornerstones curriculum framework to design exciting, thematic topics. However, our curriculum is flexible and dynamically adapts to the children's spontaneous interests—ranging from popular past themes like "Superheroes" and "Shoes" to whatever sparks their imagination next. Books also sit at the heart of everything we do, with stories by Julia Donaldson proving to be a perennial favourite that deeply engages our learners.
Throughout their time with us, children are encouraged to become confident, resilient learners. Our daily planning purposefully creates spaces for children to:
Play and explore: Try out new experiences and test their ideas.
Take part in active learning: Concentrate, persist in the face of challenges, and celebrate achievements.
Create and think critically: Develop their own ideas, make links, and choose ways to solve problems.
