STANFORD-LE-HOPE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Governors

Welcome to Stanford le Hope Primary's Governing Body page

Stanford-Le-Hope Primary is a member of the Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust and we are a Local Governing Body, which means that we make the majority of the decisions that affect our Academy.

The main role of the Local Governing Body is to ensure that every one of our pupils has the opportunity to be the best that they can be. We want our pupils to achieve their full potential academically but to also to enjoy their time at our school, in a safe and nurturing environment. When our pupils leave us for secondary school, we want them to leave with a thirst for learning and an appreciation of the wider world they are entering.

The Local Governing Body ensures the above by working with the Headteacher and school staff to:

  • Set the strategic direction of the school.
  • Set and agree aspirational targets for all pupils.
  • Visit the school regularly to monitor progress against the school's Improvement Plan.
  • Ensure all pupils and staff have a safe and welcoming environment.
  • To ensure accountability
  • To act as a critical friend to the Headteacher

If anyone would like to request minutes of the Local Governing Body or the Trust Board, this can be done free of charge by contacting the school office.
